After the death of the country’s first Chief of Defense Staff General Bipin Rawat in a helicopter crash, the old system has started again temporarily. Before the post of CDS, there used to be a Chief of Staff Committee in the country. After the death of General Bipin Rawat, as the post of CDS fell vacant, Army Chief General MM Naravane has been made the chairman of the Chiefs of Staff Committee.
