After speculation and media reports claimed that the filming location of the upcoming movie was changed from Uttar Pradesh to Dubai at the behest of Hrithik Roshan, the filmmakers released a statement clarifying the same. Reliance Entertainment, which financed the project, said in a statement on July 4: "We have noted many misleading and totally unsubstantiated reports about the filming locations of 'Vikram Vedha.'

We clearly want to state that Vikram Vedha was extensively filmed in India, including Lucknow." The statement added: "A portion of the film was shot in the United Arab Emirates between October and November 2021 as it was the only location that provided infrastructure for a biobubble that would accommodate a crew of such a scale, which also allowed for sets to be built in a studio during the months leading up to filming.

We chose to do it for health and protocol reasons. Any attempt to misrepresent these sets of facts is clearly mischievous and untrue." The creators further mentioned in their statement: "We would also like to state emphatically that at Reliance Entertainment, while we welcome input from creative talent, production and budget decisions are a centralized prerogative.

Vikram Vedha, which is based on the Indian folk tale, 'Vikram aur Betal', tells the story of a tough police officer who sets out to track down and hunt down a menacing gangster. The film stars Hrithik Roshan and Saif Ali Khan playing the leads with Radhika Apte in a featured role.
