Ishq Vishk Shenaz Hacienda fame has been diagnosed with prosopagnosia, a condition in which one doesn't recognize people's faces. The actress post to social media to share her ordeal with her fans, and requested people to try to understand that she has the 'real brain disorder'.
On her Instagram stories, Shenaz wrote, “I was diagnosed with prosopagnosia. Now, I understand why I have never been able to put faces together. It is a cognitive disorder. I always felt ashamed that I couldn't recognize faces. I recognize voices.
The actor also mentioned the symptoms of the disorder. She wrote: “Signs and symptoms of face blindness/prosopagnosia. 1. You haven't recognized a close friend or family member, especially when you didn't expect to see them.
She continues: “You have a hard time recognizing neighbors, friends, co-workers, clients, classmates. The people you meet expect you to recognize them. Not acknowledging someone will make you seem distant. several patients report losing friends and offending with co-workers because they have failed to recognise them.
This is me. And I thought I was a fool." Shenaz also shared that he can't tell the difference between two movie or TV show characters who "have the same height, build, and hairstyle. "The actor, who has been part of films such as Aagey Se Right, Luv Ka The End and Delhi Belly, among others, concluded by saying.
“I've always felt so embarrassed about confusing people and not being able to recognize people's faces, even close friends' after a few years. This is a real brain problem. Please be kind and understand."
